Problem

Battery testing needed a reliable API path - start a unit, run tests, persist results, and make those results inspectable without a manual workflow.

Architecture

Next.js client → Node.js API → Prisma / PostgreSQL, with JWT auth and Loki for production logs.

What I built

  • Auth and authorization for operators
  • Battery detail, start, run-test, test-detail, and results APIs
  • Result persistence and read models for diagnostics
  • Structured logging and operational visibility

Engineering challenges

Long-running tests, concurrent runs, idempotent start/run paths, and failure handling when a test dies mid-flight.

Impact

Replaced ad-hoc testing with an API-driven production workflow that operators can run and inspect end to end.

Fleet and mobility products needed operational backends - vehicles, workflows, integrations, and reporting - that stay up in production.

Architecture

API services behind cloud load balancing, PostgreSQL for system of record, Redis for hot paths, workers for async jobs, Kubernetes on AWS.

IoT & Webhook Services

Problem

Device and IoT events had to land reliably and fan out to downstream systems without losing or double-applying work.

Architecture

Webhook ingress → Node.js services → PostgreSQL, with Docker/AWS deploys and Loki for incident traces.

  • Ingress and validation for device/webhook events
  • Downstream integration and persistence
  • Production logging for missed or failed deliveries

Engineering challenges

Retries, idempotency, bursty device traffic, and debugging delivery failures across service and infra layers.
